Currently, the pharmaceutical market lacks drugs for complementary use during the treatment of cancer, especially in advanced stages. This situation is even more worrying since hundreds of thousands of new cases of the disease are expected every year in Brazil.

The proposed invention describes a process for obtaining high molecular weight heparin, which can be used for treatment, control and prevention of the progression of cancer to metastatic cancer. Such compound is obtained by filtration by molecular weight and causes inhibition of adhesion and multiplication of neoplastic cells.
