Brazil is the largest producer of ethanol and sugar from sugar cane, and during that process millions of tons of waste composed of vinasse and bagasse are generated annually. In addition, with the constant increase in ethanol production, it became necessary to search for options for the a-use of these wastes.
The proposed technology offers a process for the production of a material rich in carbon and nutrients, which can be used as an organomineral fertilizer. Due to being obtained by the hydrothermal carbonization of vinasse and bagasse, this product has great capacity to retain water, contributing to its greater efficiency in relation to the other fertilizers found in the market today. In addition, this product proposes a suitable destination for the residues of vinasse and sugarcane bagasse in order to add value to them and close a productive cycle of the industry.
