Every electrical nets (commercial and residential) suffer from tension surge that can provoke equipment burns. Thus, varistor systems that can be inserted in such nets are one solution for protecting domestic and industrial devices.
The proposed invention describes a low tension varistor composed by SnO2 nanoribbons. This new varistor composition presents a non-linearity coefficient (α) of approximately 16, maintaining competitive values from other electronic properties, in that case the value of the fault current remains reduced, what gives to this material interesting characteristics for using in electric distributed nets.
