The bond strength of the adhesive agents in the dentin and enamel can be tested by means of mechanical shear tests and tensile tests. However, such procedures do not determine the true bond strength of the materials. This difficulty is partially overcome when the microtraction test is used, which allows a more efficient evaluation of the adhesive interface. However, the devices currently offered in the dental market to perform such evaluations do not present a homogeneous voltage distribution, thus not generating such reliable results.
The proposed invention describes an improvement in a device for microtensile testing in dental restorative materials. Such an instrument ensures a more uniform stress distribution at the adhesive interface, thus generating more reliable results.
